difference of a 63 to a 64 gauge insert

I bought a dash insert from Yogi's that said 60-64 in the add. When I recieved it and checked it out it has marked on it 60-63! Will I be able to make it fit my 64 gauge housing? I already had the VDO gauges and was looking forward to installing the set in my truck. Thanks in advance for any advice I recieve Ray

Re: difference of a 63 to a 64 gauge insert

The 60-63 had three guage clusters . The 1st was the 60-61 standard warning light system, which had a real temp/fuel guage and the rest were warning lights. The second is the 62-63 standard cluster which had all warning lights and a fuel guage. The third was the 60-63 factory guage cluster. The 64-66 had two. The first being all warning lights, the 2nd being the factory guages. The 60-63 are interchaneable with each other (there are some wire mods for the different clusters). The 64-66 are interchangeable but again some mods between warning lights and guages. The 60-63 and the 64-66 dashes are not interchangeable due to the difference in the dashes being different. The pics are in order as described above

Re: difference of a 63 to a 64 gauge insert

No problem. Can you send it back? If it was misrepresented as a 60-64 insert...the company you ordered from needs to fix the problem. Have them send you a 64-66 insert.

I haven't contacted them yet! I was thinking about putting it for sale here for my cost if there was somebody who could use it.

Re: difference of a 63 to a 64 gauge insert

Im sure somebody could. In my opinion though...you would probably take a small loss on the resell. I would try returning it and getting what you ordered 1st. We have to hold the dealers responsible for their mistakes or they dont get fixed. The repair panels that are repoped are a perfect example. If people would complain to the company's or quit buying, they would have no option but to get it right, but people are afraid to complain. Most just fix the problems themselves. If I pay good money for a part thats advertised and the muck it up...they will hear it from me. And I normally get good results from it.

Re: difference of a 63 to a 64 gauge insert

I am trying to find one for 64-66 that will use the VDO gauges. I think theres one on E-Bay but I need to come up with "MORE" money!! I'm putting a 5.3 in my S10 so my extra cash is on the low side. I just couldn't pass up the one I bought at 50% off, just wish it would have fit.
