I was bored yesterday...

Soooooo, I changed a few things on the 66', actually Friday I saw that CPP was having a sale so I ordered a 3/5 drop kit from Jeff@CPP, once I ordered the kit the fever hit hard, I couldn't stop and it escalated from there, a PM to John@Brothers for some new moldings (because the old ones needed a lot of work) Then to Craig's list for a screaming deal deal on some chrome bumpers, and another deal Craig's list from a fellow forum member on 2 63' grills that need to be chrome plated, Saturday I replaced the bumpers traded the rims and tires from a donor truck Liking what I saw I immediately call Kevin at Kev's classic and ordered a fawn colored tilt column to match the interior and to go with a matching deluxe steering wheel that I already had ordered from Kevin. This what it looks like this today, but after the stance change comes in a week or two I may replace the wheels again. Enjoy, and comments good or bad are appreciated.

Looking good! I know about the fever, my wife tells me all the time about it. Are those 67 hub caps? They look good!

Re: I was bored yesterday...

The trucks looking great. I am looking forward to seeing it when you get the drop kit on. I've got a 3 1/2" and 5" set up on mine but it's stripped down to just the frame so I'm interested in seeing the stance on an assembled truck.
By the way, do you still have the painted rear bumper that you pulled off of your truck? I might be interested.

Yes, I will post more pic's after the stance is changed, right now I have no plans on parting with the bumper.

Looks Awesome! Nice and simple upgrades! Does the tilt column come for column shift automatics for a 700r4? Do you have a link to where you purchased the column from? Can't wait to see pics of that and the 3-5 drop!

Re: I was bored yesterday...

When I first looked at the post title I though it said "I was Born Yesterday", I was thinking you had a "Judy Holiday" moment or something. I need new contacts!

BTW for you folks too young to know who I'm speaking of.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judy_Holliday

Gee I' m getting old if I remember this stuff.

Re: I was bored yesterday...

Any chance you could point me to where you purchased the chrome bumpers off Craigslist?

I have a short stepper that I need front and rear chrome for.

Nice find by the way. That truck is awesome.

thanks.

It was a one time shot on the bumpers on "Merced Ca. " Craig's list, and thanks for the complement.

Thanks Tony, and just google "Kev's Classic's" here on the forum, Kevin made it work for a 700r4 in my sons 66' and even custom made me a column for my 54' Belair, his work is 2nd to none.

Re: I was bored yesterday...

LOVE it Rene! Lookin good. I'm on the fence with the whitewalls (at current ride height, that is) - but considering your plans to drop it, I think it'll look killer with that tire/wheel combo. I think the tire size is perfect now, especially compared to the big rears that came on it. And I'm ALWAYS on the lookout for those ol coke containers... Need to get my butt back out to some swap meets soon. Gonna try to make it to the L.A. Roadster show - they have a great meet, and the parking lot is where the real show is. Don't really care about the roadsters inside the fence (although I do go peek...)

Anyhoo - love the truck, always know it's gonna turn out perfect with yoor mods. Keep postin!

Thanks a bunch guys, I just thought the chrome bumpers and the dark brown steelies with the white wall would wake up the look of the truck and highlight the bodystyle, I may still end up changing the wheels, once it's lowered I'll have more of an idea because the whole look will be different (a good different I hope. )
