Smile I won the headers on ebay !

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33631

More then I thought they would go for, but is going to save me some money.

I ended up paying $260 for the headers ($370-$400 brand new).
Shipping will not exceed $25, unless I pay COD.

So the final cost is $285

2nd ebay purchase
1st was the carbonfiber Grant Steering Wheel

I would like to thank all the people who believed in me.
I would like to thank my girl friend for loaning me some money

Eddie

Thumbs up

That's a great buy! Doesn't that sweet smell of a Ebay victory great? Are you going to get those ceramic coated like Swervin did?

Mitch,
Thank you for posting the heads up!
I will most likely get them Jet Hot Coated (www.jet-hot.com).
Mike used a different but similar coating.
When I looked into them Jet-Hot seemed to be the better choice.
They provide me with loads of information, even a video

Coating is $250-300 for both headers and the y-pipe.
I believe I was quoted $275

Mike,
I am sure I will be happy with them too

Don't know when I will get the rest of the stuff I need.
Having these in my possesion will be a good motivation to buy and get the rest installed. I can't wait!
I hope to have everything installed by Sept, emissions time.

Congradulations! That's sounds like a solid deal. I was watching that auction when there was 20mins. left and it was holding at $165. I guess there was some serious bidding going on. Ebay's fun when ya win!

Airmale:
Well it was one of those proxy bids. So you put the highest you are willing to pay then it will keep going up from there automatically till it gets to your highest bid. I entered in just over the high bid and kept going till I beat it. Its actually kind of funny what happened. It was at like $160 or so when I started bidding (last 15 minutes or so). I kept going up and up trying to beat that person. Then I got to $250, $50 more then I wanted to spend. I was kind of mad at that person. So I tried to get them to pay more I decided to go ahead and do $260. Thats when it said I was the highest. I stayed there and kept refreshing. Then I won.
That person who had the $255 bid will probably not be happy when they see what I did. They must not have been able to watch the last few minutes of the bid (the key to winning, well after willing to pay more). All in all Im happy I stuck in for $260 it is still a good deal.
If you look at the bid history (http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-c...tem=2414490557) I almost lost it buy $5. im glad I was mad at that other person for beating me, or else I would have stayed at $250 and lost.

Mark,
I know $375 is a lot. Thats why I borrowed the money, I didnt want to miss the chance to save myself $100. Hey thats going to buy the muffler and help eat some of the coating cost (depends on how you look at it I guess). The cost of those headers is what has been detering me from buying everything else. Now its mostly down hill from here

Even more good news!
Seller is going to ship them COD for $16.56 instead of $25.
So that drops the total down to $276.56.
That extra $10 I bid at the last second didnt even matter, because the shipping is $8.44 less then stated in the auction.

Mark,
Why where the headers so much ($575)?
Where they coated or custom?

Eddie,

not trying to sway you away from Jet Hot, but I highly recommend HPC. They have a place in Chandler AZ.

http://www.hpcoatings.com/contact_us.htm

It cost me $275.00 for the coating of headers and y-pipe, inside and out. It was $297.00 shipping and all. Of course it cost me $21.00 when I shipped them also.

I have nothing but good things to say about HPC. I guess you remember me telling about starting my engine for the first time with my timing retarded. Well, it will make you sick to see your fresh ceramic coated headers glowing red.

I took them off and sent them back to them to have them recoated. Fully prepared to pay to have it done again. HPC's policy clearly states, if you overheat them this way, it's not covered under their warranty. Well, guess what, they recoated them and sent them back, free. No shipping even. Never asked a question one. I know for a fact they knew what had happened. Can't beat service like that.

Mike,
I will check them out for sure.
I will go down to their facility and check their finish out.
I have not seen it in person and had a hard time getting them to ship me any information on their product (kind of frustrating).
When I have the money to coat them Ill check them out again in person and see how things go.
I believe they have different warranties though.
The information I was sent by Jet-Hot stated their warranty information and I think it was longer then HPC.

Eitherway they are both in town and I should save a few dollars there. If there are any problems I could just drive over there and raise some hell
