New camping trailer

After much deliberation, and saving. I am happy to announce that we are proud owners of a Lifetime Tent Trailer. I was originally looking at expedition style trailers but.. To much $$. I then was looking at pop-up style trailers. Too heavy and bulky to tow behind our 04 Forester Xt. I was happy with neither option.
We ended up getting a multi-function trailer.

It cost 3k and weighs in around 900lbs with the tent loaded. So far I have found many uses for it. It's a hair narrower than our Suby, so it doesn't get drug around narrow roads and trails. I can't even see it in my mirrors when I am towing it behind our Burb's.

Re: New camping trailer

It came delivered(truck freight) on two pallets and required around 2-3hrs to assemble. It took basic tools to put together. The axle assembly comes in one piece. I was bummed to notice that it was scratched up in transit. Even more lame was that the instructions were missing(later mailed to me). I was able to get the assembly directions for the trailer online, but my wife and I had to figure out how to assemble the tent on our own. It actually was pretty simple to figure out and took maybe 30min to figure it out. It pretty much takes two people to setup the tent, and it takes only a few minutes.

The first day I loaded up a 14bff(free) in it.

I'm almost partial to take the drums off the hubs off the 14 and replace that 2500gvw trailer axle with some beef. Rolling spare parts!

It's sleeps 6 but we prefer 3 and a dog. We just towed it 600+ miles. No problems.

That is really cool!! Seeing yours made me curious and apparently there are a few companies that make them. Costco has a smaller version of yours for $2,400. http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...atchallpartial
These tent trailers are cool, you got the wheels in my head turning...

They came out with that one a week after I purchased mine. I prefer the larger one anyways. Mine has only one door at the rear of the trailer. That one has two, but you better be careful when exiting the front of that one. Still a nice option.

If you wanted a larger trailer that can accomodate more toys. Check out the Jumping Jack Trailer.
It features
Carries two ATVs or motorcycles on upper deck
96 sq ft of space in tent
Sleeps 4 to 6
3500 lb. torsion bar axles - heavy payload with a smooth ride
Strong rectangular tube frame with 1/8" wall
Powder coat finish tougher than automobile paint
Water sealed wood deck is long lasting and replaceable
Heavy duty tie down loops
Side Steps
Recessed lights are out of the way and avoid damage
15" wheels
