Axle swap????

I have a 68 GMC C15 SWB frame I'm working on. I just found a 82 Chevy C10 truck for parts and was wondering if the rear axle will just bolt in or do I have to change out any parts. I have read about swapping the front crossmember, but have seen any rear axle swaps for the trucks with leaf spring rears.

Any advise or pictures would be great.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: Axle swap????

The shocks were attached differently on the later rear ends vs the early leaf rears. Leafs were 2.5"w on the later years vs. 2.25" for the early but that shouldn't be an issue. Measure the widths between mounting pads. If they're close & you can fab the shock mount to correct the differences, it's a viable swap.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
