57 brakes upgrade questions
I have a 1957 Chevy 1/2 ton, six cylinder with a T-5 5speed, Fenton headers, that I am currently running stock drums all around. I would like to upgrade to a non-power dual chamber master cylinder and retain the under the floor pedal. I have the original six in the truck and don’t think a power booster would operate- not enough vacuum. I currently have aftermarket rims on it but would like to go back to the original 15” rims, My question is, I guess, is will a CPP 6 bolt disc brake upgrade for a stock beam axle work with original rims?? I had read in a Classic Trucks article that some stock rims will not work. If I went to the CPP m/c bracket, which m/c would I use?? Any insight would be great, thanks.

Re: 57 brakes upgrade questions
I cant answer all your questions. Probably call CPP & find out. I would definately use power brakes though with front discs. The 235 has plenty of vacuum for them.
