Exhaust Idea
Okay so if you have a 2wd truck, is it legal to run headers with only glasspacks on them from the collector and that's it?

Re: Exhaust Idea
it depends on where you live, ask some inspection shops around your town theres some strict ones down here and theres a couple that people i know that have no mufflers or cats go to and get passed. it depends on how strict the shop is

Re: Exhaust Idea
I would say no. The exhaust on cab and chassis for example had to extend past the driver's compartment or the cab. I would think this would be about everywhere. Just my guess.

Re: Exhaust Idea
I was wondering because we run this setup on our Camaro and I love the sound of it. I can't use this setup because my truck is 4wd but was just wondering.

Re: Exhaust Idea
do a google search on IC 9-19-8
yea taking it past the cab is for your safty the sheet medal amplifies the sound and the fumes are more likely to enter the cab if you get 3" colectors and run about 3' of 3" pipe then a short 3" glass pack summitracing sells them there about a foot long i had that set up on my elcamino it was loud but you could only hear it eco off housed and buildings .... when i mashed on it and look in the rear view there were all sorts of people giving me the evel eye now days its just the diesel guyes giving me the evel eye ill give you 3 reasons why. 1 i got stacks lol 2 i blow there doors off with a small block and 3 girls dont like slow trucks lol just remember it may be legal to some cops but loud to others its a fine line but i know some sterios are louder then my pipes

Re: Exhaust Idea
put 2 90's in a pipe and bring the passengers side to the drivers side and run them side by side short so it clears the t-case and its right under your seat

Re: Exhaust Idea
I know how to get it past thanks, not really worried about doing my exhaust yet, my truck is currently set-up similar to that way with 2 cherry bombs that cut out before the rear axle.

Re: Exhaust Idea
As far as fumes coming into the cab, Ive had 2 trucks like this for over 20 years. Never a problem. As far as exhaust options, it comes down to..do you need cats? If not do what you want as long as its not too loud to get tickets.
