Shop Manuals

For my 59 Apache, it looks like I need the 58 manual and the 59 supplement. Is this correct?

Any recommendations on where to get them?

I plan on buying hard copies of the manuals. Just want to make sure I get the correct issues.

the 58 and 59 manuals are supplements to the 55 manual, the reprints of the 55 manual are labeled 55-59
the only manual you realy need is the 55-59 factory assembely manual lmc truck has it for $30 as do a lot of vendors.
the supplement manuals only cover changes to the respective years, but the 59 is the same basic truck as 55
and it is well worth the money

i was trying to find info on a fleetside bed for a forum member and was reading thru the 59 supplement
it really only covers posi-trac rearends and factory ac for the 59 (neither of which i have ever seen)

So, to be clear, the supplement does not have any information on the fleetside bed or different front sheetmetal? I did not even know the supplement was reproduced. I am far enough into my build to get buy without it.

OR are you talking about the SHOP manual and not the ASSEMBLY Manual? I knew the supplemental shop manual was available.

nyou are correct, the supplement manual does not have any sheetmetal info in it (other than step vans)
they changed the beds in 58, maybe the 58 supplement has the info your after.
i was checking to see if it had any info on the fleetsides for you.
and yes it is a shop manual supplement, i have an original copy. though it is worthless

You will find that one of the best things about the factory service manuals for the AD and Task Force trucks is that they are written straight forth language and the tech writer didn't assume that the mechanic in the field had worked on the same model or component before.
