Re: fuel pump!!
The one on the block is always pumping
It's the movement of the pedal that does the squirt Posted via Mobile Device

Re: fuel pump!!
Yeah the electric pump will make no difference in starting and running cold. You would still need to follow how you start your truck now. Electric pump does not get gas to the engine, the accelerator pump does and for the accelerator pump to do that you have to pump the gas.
So if your truck now will not start without pumping the gas, the electric pump will make no difference. That said an industry standard tried and true universal pump is the carter. $82 from jegs. http://www.jegs.com/i/Carter/180/P4070/10002/-1

Re: fuel pump!!
You'll need to go fuel injection for a remote start to work on a cold engine or something that has been sitting for days.
Unless you already have a carbed engine that has been running within a few hours that day, then it should start fine without touching the gas. |

Re: fuel pump!!
Couldnt he use a regular gas pump( the one on the block)
and run like a relay or a capacitor on the ignition wire so it can maybe keep it cranking for like 1-4 seconds enough to crank it over |

Re: fuel pump!!
Just a thought, but if you used an electric pump, why couldn't you tee into the line with a solenoid and run a line from the solenoid into either a fitting into the intake or into the carb. Kind of like an electric primer. Most remote starts have buttons for locks or trunk that you could use to trigger the solenoid. Hit the start button bump the trunk button, and in theory your truck is running. Would be a little bit of messing around, but should accomplish the goal.

Re: fuel pump!!
Cycling the gas pedal to the floor closes the choke and sets the throttle stop up on the high idle cam. The gas squirt from the accelerator pump is not really needed.
Use a high idle solenoid that's set high enough to allow the choke linkage to move completely. Kick it on for a few seconds when the remote start is engaged.
