Brake caliper bushings

I bought the $2.99 hardware kit from autozone for my front brakes, it comes with the clip to hold the pad into the piston, and then all new rubber bushings and sleeves for where the bolts go through.

How the heck do you install the bushing? I've got the old rubber o-ring out, and the new one seated in place. Then I have to try to get that metal sleeve in the center of that O ring, and every way I try to push it in, the O ring wants to pop out.

What am I doing wrong??

Thanks!

Re: Brake caliper bushings

Ive tried greasing them, it still wants to push one side of the O ring out.
Do I have the O ring in first, and then try to slide the sleeve in? (Thats what I'm trying)... there has to be an easier way

Re: Brake caliper bushings

Thats the way I always do it.....I dunno, try putting the o-ring on the sleeve and then try to stick it in.
