WTB: Weld Racing Outbacks

I thought I'd give this a shot. I have two Weld Racing Outbacks in 8 x 16 with 8 on 6.5" bolt pattern I've been trying to sell with no luck...because there are only two. I actually really like these wheels,so I'm hoping someone might have one or two laying around they'd want to sell. Also, put the word out, keep your eyes open for me,etc. I think these are some of the nicest looking wheels made in recent year and it truly dumfounds me that they were discontinued. But,that's what happens with about any of the rare few newer wheels I like (M/T Challengers,Weld Sidewinders,Alcoa 167031s-star pattern...).

Here's what I need:

Weld racing went bankrupt.... that is why they were discontinued. I will look at my buddies shop. Might be able to come up with something for you.

Re: WTB: Weld Racing Outbacks

I appreciate that. They discontinued these in around 2000-2002 and the Sidewinders later on. Maybe that's why they went under. LOL! No seriously,it's a shame because they made some really nice wheels. Better than the crap you see available now.

Re: WTB: Weld Racing Outbacks

Yeah, when I Googled I came up with their site. They just don't sell the classiest wheels they ever made and went trendy, just like everyone else, pretty much.

Re: WTB: Weld Racing Outbacks

Altough Gregg, Kenny and Jerry Weld have all passed on the company still survives. They have a big new complex out by the cheifs, Royals stadium but I think there is still a discount outlet in one of there old down town buildings...I have bought from them before but its been a long time! I'll stop by next time I'm in the area and see what they have.

You might try Wheel Pros also. I have bought a set of the old center caps for those wheels from them.

Re: WTB: Weld Racing Outbacks

I must have missed this. Thanks for the response. These are nice looking wheels, but are different and not available in good old 16" standard traditional truck wheel diameter. I have two 16s and need two more. Now I know why they stopped making Outbacks...so they could come out with a slightly different wheel for more than twice as much!!! WOW!

Re: WTB: Weld Racing Outbacks

Well,it's been a while so I figured I'd bring this back. I've given you all plenty of time to use your spare time searching for my wheels. So,what did you turn up? I should be up to my neck in these by now. I'm not giving up on you yet. I'll give another chance to prove yourselves as worthy parts digger uppers. Don't feel bad,I still like you anyway

Doesn't help you, but with in the last few days I saw a set of those rims (thought they were stock Ford wheels, but I thought it said Centerline in the ad) with tires on the Seattle CL.
But they were with tires and I think a few $$'s
Will post a link later if I can find it; not sure how I stumbled upon them in the first place?

Re: WTB: Weld Racing Outbacks

I'd be curious to see them, either way. I wonder where they all went. I never see them on anything and rarely saw them, ever. Ok,so they didn't sell well? Funny thing is, everyone says they like them. They are a great looking no BS wheel if you ask me...and drop forged strong! A lot of people think mine are Ford wheels when they see them.

Willing to convert to 6-lug?

Seems odd that they are 16.5 and 6-lug?

Re: WTB: Weld Racing Outbacks

Boy,they sure are nice! It is odd that they are 16.5. I didn't realize once wide 16" tires and wheels began to be made that 16.5s were still offered, other than in styles from before wide 16s
