A little frustrated.

Well on my way to class this morning I passed a cop and stopped. Made a left turn, but misjudged the guy coming towards me, no biggy, gave it some gas and then I get a good tire screech. Kept checking my mirrors and he wasn't there. 4 miles down the road I get pulled over. Im pretty aggravated, it seems the police just never have something better to do. Needless to say ill be going to court next month. Sorry to bother y'all I just needed to tell someone.

What was the weather like? Was the road wet? What is the citation? Exhibition of accelleration?

Re: A little frustrated.

Its dry as heck here. I got cited for careless/prohibited driving. I didn't lay marks or have any smoke.

Re: A little frustrated.

Careless/prohibited driving is vague. Look up the states definition. If it's perception, you can probably argue your way out of it. Argue the truck has no weight in the rear and the motor has 500+ HP!!

I agree I have seen it happen. But a lil screch and your in a truck. Lil Brother I DO NOT AGREE WITH THE Citation. Careless and Reckless is some one is like BALLS TO THE WALL in and out of traffic burn outs that you cant see cars behind you and so on. Listen to me DO NOT GO IN THERE WITHOUT A LAWYER. That's all i'm gonna say about that good luck lil fella and just be a lil more careful ok

Re: A little frustrated.

That sucks! I would definitely take that one to court and argue that it was an honest mistake on your part and to avoid a wreck you gave it some gas to get out of the way. I have had a few tickets like this one thrown out just because the cop didn't show up for the court date. So there is always hope, at least the judge might reduce it.

Re: A little frustrated.

Im gonna look it up. I didn't fish tail or anything. He said he heard my truck from where he was sitting. Ill look when I go back that way but I think he was to far from the stop sign to even see me. There was a truck behind me so what's to say it wasn't that want.

Re: A little frustrated.

Argue it wasn't careless you meant to do it. Cop in my state think that whole speed limit is a rule and not just a suggestion.

I again with Wyatt, many cops wont show and it gets thrown out. They rarely add anything addition because you argue, just do it respectfully and you have nothing to lose. If you have time stamped/dated pictures of the ground where it occurred and the spot where he was sitting it MIGHT help or backfire, it's a coin toss.

Good luck.

Re: A little frustrated.

I've been questioned about that before,,,driving one of the cars with a very tightly setup clutch style posi unit,,,I would turn somewhat sharp corners and the inside tire would chatter/chirp, especially when working the clutch. Left a red light and made a right hander, had a cop that was right behind me pull me over

Once I got him to understand it had nothing to do with the application of throttle he let me go,,,,but I thought the whole thing was pretty dumb anyway. Such a silly thing to pull someone over for.

Since I drive mainly classic muscle cars (and have all my life) I sort of pay it no attention as if it's normal (and it is, especially with F70-14 polyglass tires) but people today see that and think it's an exhibition of speed

Re: A little frustrated.

Knowing my luck he'll show lol. If I meant to do it wouldnt it be reckless driving? Im thinking I got pulled over on an assumption. He directly told me he heard tire screech from where he was. I know this is pretty petty, but I think pulling someone over because of this is absurd.

I was kidding, but I don't think they can change the charge. I would argue the 75 mph ticket was wrong cause I was doing 105 or anything like that.

Re: A little frustrated.

Well a another vehical was coming toward me on the road I turned on. So I wanted to get moving, I was almost done with the turn and give it some gas is screeches loud then I left off and it keeps screeching. The thing that's funny is he would have to break the legal speed limit to catch up to me.

Re: A little frustrated.

You have the right to remain silent.

But obviously not the ability, "squeeling noise", "I needed to get moving", "definitely posi", "he had to break the speed limit to catch me".

Hmmmmm, sounds like you matted it.

Re: A little frustrated.

I admit the tires screeched but I had no intention do it. I think he assumed it was me cause young guy+ old truck= trouble. Im just saying I don't think he visually had evidence to firmly say it was me.

That could never happen to me. I have a 305. I think it has about 10 HP. I don't think it would lay rubber on ice.

Re: A little frustrated.

did your turn accross oncoming traffic in any way cause them to brake or swerve?? if it is yes then u r wrong and are careless

but if it is just a little noise? well intersections are the dirtiest places on the road with alot of slimey and oily buildup

u decide

Re: A little frustrated.

just cause your tires made some kinda noise doesnt mean u were wreckless or out of control in my opinon, but try to get some power hungry cop with nothing else to do to exersize even a little bit of common sence.....not gonna happen......
