Transmission lines
I'm using stock 4L60 lines and they are 3/8". It appears the fittings in the radiator are for 5/16". Any simple way to do this? Does someone make a nut for the 5/16" tube hole that I can flare on the 3/8" tubing? I read that the radiator thread is 1/2"- 20. It's getting close to Cruisin The Coast and we want to make it but these small things keep holding up the show.

If your dead set on the 3/8" lines..... Use #6 AN to 1/2-20 flare adapter fittings, http://aeroquip.cc/fcm2963-fbm2963.aspx X2 Steel AN tube nuts, http://aeroquip.cc/fcm3572fbm3572-fi...e-06steel.aspx X2 Steel AN Tube sleeves http://aeroquip.cc/fcm3680fbm3680-fi...e-06steel.aspx Sleeves are sold in pairs This is why I always run the older 5/16" flare to 1/4" NPSM fittings on the trans & run 5/16" cooler lines. |

Re: Transmission lines
Thanks for the information I wound up flaring the 3/8" a little bit, slipping the 5/16" inside and welding it. I didn't want to wait on parts and I was able to keep the factory flex hose on it and made my splice right at the radiator so it looks almost OEM.

Re: Transmission lines
As long as it seals....
But if you weld the nut on, how do you tighten without being able to spin the nut?

Re: Transmission lines
Not welding the nut, just slipping the smaller tubing inside the larger and welding it a inch or so back from the nut.

Re: Transmission lines
You mean Brazed right? Mig welding it is out of the question...It WILL leak or worse...Blow off from the weld being "cold". If you have a TIG....Im jealous

Re: Transmission lines
Makes a bit more sense I guess, but you still might want to keep an eye on it tho; I'd think you may still run the risk of cavitation.
