Would this booster work on my '65 C20?
I know it says it's for a car, but would it work? I have a single master (keeping it that way) and a 283 V8

That is just an aftermarket universal booster with mounting brackets for the car specified. I would not use a dinky 7" booster on your C20. You will likely not feel much difference than the manual brakes. What I would recommend is an original style 11" booster from say a '67-'70 C20. Those years of C20's were also available with dual diaphram boosters. The dual diaphram gives more braking assist with a given engine vacuum as compared to a single diaphram of the same diameter.

C'fab gave u good advice. A 1981 C10 booster from AutoZone, ~$75.99, fits well--has 3 pairs of holes for mtg. to firewall, & on my '66 the center pair bolted right up. (May hafta modify the pedal pushrod slightly, using a coupling nut from Lowe's.) The mc fits right on also. Go by a salvage yard or garage & get for free--or couple $ at most--a discarded booster to avoid their $21 core charge. Later, when u decide to make 'Grandpa's' truck MUCH, MUCH safer by converting to a dual-line mc, an A-Zone mc for a 1967 C20 with drum-drum brakes, for about $16 will work nicely.

MODIFY 1ST REPLY!!! Sorry, Scott, but I double-checked my truck & the booster I used was A-Zone's part#54-71069, still for a 1981 half-ton; and its cost is the $79.99-one w/core charge of $15.00. Its overall diameter seems smaller than 1st one I quoted PLUS it is a dual diaphragm whereas cheaper one I believe is just a single. Thank goodness for keeping receipts (and still having access to my pickup!) Sorry!
