LS1 wiring question

Im planning on doing an LS1 swap in my 67. I will be buying one complete with wiring harness. My question is ....is the wiring harness that comes with the LS1 the harness for my whole truck?? Hope that make sense, i know nothing about wiring. This might help answer, i have removed all old wires and i know i have to run new ones to brakes, cluster..etc but do i just pull (extend) those off the LS1 harness?

Re: LS1 wiring question

The harness will be for just the motor but depending on who makes it should have the provisions for tach speedo etc. For the rest of the truck you can use your stock harness

Re: LS1 wiring question

The answer is yes, you'll need another harness to run the lights, horn, turn signals, ect. THe engine harness that comes on the LS1 will be just for the engine, and it's related items, like fuel pump and fans.
