What type of Rochester 1bbl do I have

Trying to figure out what type of carb rebuild kit to buy and there are a few options - My carb doesn't have a tag so I'm not sure what type I have a B, BC or BV - its a manual choke on a 292 1964 engine - Any ideas?

Re: What type of Rochester 1bbl do I have

Judging from the pictures I have a "B" - but it has a side fuel inlet like the "BC" - it is however a manual choke? - does this sound odd?

Re: What type of Rochester 1bbl do I have

The manifold is the factory cast iron. When I did the intake/exhaust gasket, I painted it w/aluminum engine paint. The carb I rebuilt myself. There are some aftermarket intakes, but Im not aware of any for the 1bbl. The ones Ive seen are for 2bbl or 4bbl carbs.

Re: What type of Rochester 1bbl do I have

Thank you. The carbs are pretty straight forward. I dont think theres more than 45-50 parts total. Mine is the original 230 that came in the truck. Still drive my truck daily and its very reliable.

Re: What type of Rochester 1bbl do I have

I'm just working through a load of issues - none of them are what I would consider major - I have the carb to rebuild, remove the broken bolt fromt the ehasut manifold so it can seal properly to the intake manifold, do a gasket replacement - Move on to replacing the seals on the transmission - Then I tackle replacing all the suspinsion bushings - after all that the truck should be in pretty good condition - Am I missing anything major?

As long as it stops, starts and steers safely...you'll be fine.

Re: What type of Rochester 1bbl do I have

Pic didnt pop up....try again. No problem on the help. Thats what we're all here for. Let me know if you run into any problems w/the carb rebuild. I do recommend a fuel filter before and after the fuel pump. Just my opinion though.

Re: What type of Rochester 1bbl do I have

I have already installed a inline filter before and after the fuel pump and that pretty much fixed the problem - I'm still going to go through with a full rebuild anyway just to clean things up and replace any worn parts / gaskets.

On a side note I can't figure out how to post pictures to my replies???

Re: What type of Rochester 1bbl do I have

You will go to "go advanced". This will take you to a page that will show a bunch of icons. The one w/the paperclip will allow you to attach pics.

Re: What type of Rochester 1bbl do I have

I think I need to rebuild my carb also. I have the same Rochester B. where is the best place to buy a rebuild kit? And, do you know of any write-ups on how to do it. It will be my first rebuild. Thanks.
