looking for truck tires

i need a set of 7.50 x 15 8 or 10 ply bias ply truck tires. much like what came on our trucks from the factory. i've checked locally and they're trying to sell me radials. anyone know a source?

Re: looking for truck tires

I went with STA Super transport tires for my '66 3/4 ton GMC. They are bias ply tires and very much look like the original Firestone tires that came with our trucks. They come in both a ribbed highway tread as well as a more agressive on/off road tread. I've had them for about a year and they seem to ride quite nice. Narrow tires sure make for easy handling on trucks without power steering.

Here's a link for some pictures, sizing, and pricing.

I second these. They're 8 ply or 6ply and they're tall and skinny. Easy to turn with a good look to them.

Try http://www.tires-easy.com/. I got 7.50-16 radials from them. They seem to have a pretty big selection.

thanks for the help... couldn't navagate their site. only bias ply i found were trailer only, pretty expensive and made in thailand. coker prices for the firestone reproduction was better than a grand then you got tubes to buy...

i guess the best way is to hit e-bay or swap meets cause it doesn't seem to be out there new and reasonably priced.

do appreciate it, though.
and i am still open to suggestions if anybody has a lead on new, nice looking, original appearing, bias ply, blackwall, tall light truck tires for say... a hundred and a half. theres got to be more folks looking than just me.

i think the tire size that you are looking for is a 7.60 x 15, not 7.50 x 15.
there was a 7.50 x 16.
7.60 x 15 and 7.50 x 16 were common tire sizes back then. computer searches only work with the right nbrs

Re: looking for truck tires

Have you tried the Farmers Coop in Fayettville for bias ply tires?
