Newbie here with questions

Hello guys this my first time posting and have quit a few questions which i know alot of you guys have much more experience than me. Well i was recently given a 1962 chevy c20 from an old family friend. This is my first project and it needs alot of attention to get it where id like it to be.

My questions is i also have a 1996 chevy silverado z71 which im thinkin of using as a donor if possible. What parts can be swapped to my c20 if possible?

depends on much work you want to do and your ability.. you could put the 62 body on the 96 frame depending on wheel base and have an old truck with modern running gear

Putting a '60-'66 body onto a '88 and up frame is much much more work that it is worth. There is a huge difference between the '66 frame and the '96 frame. I have installed a '62 body onto a '75 frame, and that is too much work IMO. The '96 frame would be way more work.

As for what parts to use, the engine will be a good candidate. I would convert it to a carburator unless you are quite knowledgeable in EFI conversions, or know someone that is....or have the desire to learn. The trans won't work unless you plan on converting your '66 to 4wd. The brake booster is one of the boosters that is compatrable with my booster brackets. The master cylinder can be used as well. The seat will work in your '66 rather well. I think that's about it.
