picture request: raised bed floors

I currently have a homebuilt cover on my truck but want to build a raised floor so that i can actually use it to haul stuff around. the cover i use sits stationary in the rear, only the front lifts up. it was made this way because i was going to eventually going to make my tailgate operational., i removed the chains so it makes it difficult to use. the cover would be perfect for a chained tailgate and that is why i want to lose it. So, i would like to see finished pictures of raised floors as inspiration.

Here is a option for you, I had the same problem because I have chains, they are a pain so I bought this cover and made it so it raises from the rear, that way I can fuel my truck without lowering the tailgate. Kieth

Sorry to go off topic, but Kieth, what color did you use on your truck? I really like that green.

its a stock light green for a 66 gmc, but we tried to make it a little better, when they mixed the base coat it was supposed to have white in the formula we substituted metalic silver, where it called for solid yellow we used transparent yellow, we then did the sealer primer coat in white so the green let it shine through , it took a lot more base coats, but we like the results. We used ppg omni and a final 2 coats of polyurethane clear. never even buffed it out........Kieth

Re: picture request: raised bed floors

Delmo's '65 has by far my favorite bed floor. I don't have pics at the ready, but find his pick'em up truck thread. Original wood.

Re: picture request: raised bed floors

Mine is "semi" raised, it sits differently than a stock floor because of the tubs, fuel cell, and the thickness of the "wood" Its in 3 sections, the front is 1 piece, with the rear split into a battery compartment and a fuel door. This is with the rear sections out when I was painting some of the "frame" parts. its modified bed rails and structural 1/2 sq tube.
