65 gmc p/s adapter kit

i am new here but love the forums,anyway i have a 65 gmc fleetside swb.installed POL power steering adapter kit and went to bolt up pitman arm and it is about 2 inches from draglink hole toward the frt of truck. steering box and linkage from 82 c10.i used the stock pitman or is this the problem,do i have to swap arms.

I would use the pitman arm from the '82 box.
