1960 Apache with 19.5 rims

I have been going to this tire shop for some years now and never paid much attention to this truck because it wasn't a GMC. Owner of the business said he's had it for 30 years.
I took some pics because I noticed the 19.5" steel wheels/hubcaps and double-hump hood. Not for sale and he dumps tires and hubcaps or whatever all over it. Smells like urine on the side, but it appears to be complete. just sharing some pics...

Re: 1960 Apache with 19.5 rims

Good eye. Very desirable one piece design and still a popular tire size. This was the maximum optional tire size on all 60-66 3/4 tons, but as usual, very few payed extra for these rims. The positive offset on these wheels float the hubcap outwards near the curb. Notice incorrect hubcap, this may be the giveaway clue, I bet these wheels came off a '65 large bread truck ( stepvan ). I doubt that this flatbed originally came with these wheels.

Thanks for sharing the photos. What a shame, especially the hood. The whole truck looks to be complete and reasonably straight, but I don't suppose it has too many flat panels with all the wheels and tires piled on the sheet metal.

Factorystock, would you school me on what the correct cap would look like?

Re: 1960 Apache with 19.5 rims

Just an FYI update...I returned to take pics of the mounting area with the hubcap off. Has 4 clips and these would bolt to my Dana 60 or 14 bolt FF. Also measured the area where the cap attaches and the width of the cap itself. Thoght this may be useful.

Re: 1960 Apache with 19.5 rims

You may be right as I'm not up on the Chevy Particulars. Just going by what the owner stated. First he told me it was a 1959 so he may not know himself.

Re: 1960 Apache with 19.5 rims

This truck appears to be pieced together with whatever parts that fit. Grille is a '60, hood is a '61. Steering wheel is 62-64 ( white ). Hubcaps are 64-65. All 8 lug clip wheels take the 8 3/4" inner ring cap, regardless of rim size. A '60 would have the carry over '57-'59 style hubcap. A '61 would have the '62-'63 style hubcap.
