Install the bushing with a press.

Re: What I destroyed today was...
I always put my polyurethane bushings in the freezer for a day before installation so they contrast fully.

Re: What I destroyed today was...
Hmmm... maybe 3/4T are different, but they just screw in, they're threaded. If the 1/2T are press in, then a press is pretty useful. The problem with control arms is that you need some kind of tube as a spacer between the "ears" so that you don't just bend the control arm.
I bought an OTC ball joint press a month or so ago, and it looks like it'd work very well for that sort of thing. And I've used it for U-joints, pressing out wheel studs, and a number of things, so it's a useful tool to have.

Re: What I destroyed today was...
The half tons are threaded too. I've actually never changed a threaded arm bushing. The rubber ones come out good with an air hammer and go in good with a large manual hammer. Trucks got rubber bushings sometime in the 80's.

Re: What I destroyed today was...
That was it. It was threaded.. and I was confused. Turns out all I had to do was pull the rubber boot off before threading it on. Very easy!
