Another c 20, 3/4 ton lowering, i mean LEVELING! question
Hi ...
I have a 70 3/4 ton long bed all stock. The truck has the following options.. F 60 HD front springs... G 70 Rear Leaf Spring F 59 Front stabilizer G 50 HD Rear Spring Leaf It's my understanding, and i can be wrong that from the factory the truck is aprox 2-3 inches higher in the rear then the front, in it's stance. What i would like to do is level out the truck by only lowering the rear. I also would not like to deminish it's 3/4 ton rating, it thats possible. I dont want to raise the front at all, just level out the rear... Any pinion or other problems i may face? How can i do this, hopefully myself. Thank You!

Do you have any pics of the rear suspension?

I'm thinking you might be able to remove some of the rear leaf springs.
A drop shackle for the rear would be best. I don't know if they make them for 3/4 ton 67-72 leaf springs. You can buy 73-87 drop shackles,... but I think the leafs are wider on these trucks. www.performanceonline.com sells drop leaf springsbut you should have to go that route.

I thought about the removing leafs idea, but i dont want to lose the 3/4 ton rating. I was hoping there was something out there i didnt know of.. I will probibly go to a spring shop and have something made up, if thats reasonable.

I know some guys on the 73-87 that moved the front spring hangar up. Removed the rivits, moved about 2 inches up, drilled holes, and bolted it on. Don't know if it could work on the other models, but you'd only pay like $5 for the bolts and nuts.
