My dirty dingo motor mounts
Here's some pictures ...... you won't be able to use the factory ac bracket with these mounts... Dirty dingo does sell a bracket to move the ac up on the passengerside tho...

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
What engine stands are you using? Have you set the motor in the truck yet? How much room do you have in the back of the motor?

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
The stands are performance online tubular mounts. I haven't put the engine in the truck as of yet, but these mounts will let the engine move up to 3" so i won't have to have my 3.5" aluminum driveshaft re cut and welded....

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
Can you post the part numbers for the POL stands and the dirty dingo mounts? I found the mounts for 73-87, but not 67-72. Thanks in advance.

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
The dirty dingo slider sbc to ls1 lsx conversion engine swap mounts. They don't have a part number... The performance online frame mounts is
ECM6372C. May have to call them because i'm not sure if they include the polyurathane upper mounts or not... The upper mounts i have are the short and wide energysuspension part numbers 355-3-1114g. Hope all this works... should tho... You can see the pol mounts that i used with the big block... I'll try to get some better pics tomorrow....

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
I like those mounts but must have missed them when I installed my motor. I may swap to them if I ever have to pull the motor. They use a better design SBC motor mount...with the long thru bolt.

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
I used the Holley plates with solid "SBC" style mounts on my NoLimit crossmember for my K/5.
Made plates and used the stock engine mount towers, and stock truck style motor mount on my C-10.

The slider concept is interesting. Looking forward to hear how it all fits.

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
I have the sliders and used them in my 6.0 suburban 4wd swap and although the ac compressor fits and they say that it does they did not mention at the time you had to notch the frame which i have no interest in doing so i just took mine off, good design aside from the cold weld and my cousin had the exact same set the first post shows and had porosity in two of the welds

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
I'll get you a picture and measurement tomorrow... Not sure on headers yet. I think i want the foreward and downward facing headers but still looking at clearance issues with ac compressor moved up on passenger side and ps pump. If i can't get them to work i will just use the truck manifolds facing foreward and have the v-bands welded on and have them jet hot coated...

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
Yikes! When i had air ride, I bottomed my truck out hard. Cracked the oil pan....AND the bellhousing on the 4L80E. Might want to re-consider using a truck pan. The 4th gen f-body pan fits real nice. $.02

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
Has anyone done a diy slider? I'm looking into making my own adapter plates now and I'm thinking about going this route, but the price tag is a bit high for me.

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
I used there sliders on my '72 suburban. However I used 73+ engine frame stands with the 73+ sliders from dirty dingo. I was able to put the 6.2/6l80e combo in slid all the way forward without cutting the driveshaft. Even the th400 tranny mount worked. Just slid the tranny crossmember forward and drilled new holes for it and bolted to the frame. The stock truck tranny shift linkage is really close. Just a hair off. Will probably work, but may bind so I need to modify it slightly.

looks like the pan that came with my LY6...I probably should change it now...but plan is to wait for IFS upgrade and/or dis-assembly for paint and body work.

There's been a lot of discussion about the quality of these mounts. It'll be interesting to see how they holdup.

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
Not sure what you guys are talking about on these mounts... They are thick metal plates that slide with bolts.... There is nothing to break on these... I'm more worried about the polyurathane part of the motor mount which is not dirty dingo...

Re: My dirty dingo motor mounts
I think they need a few things at that company
1. A good welder 2. A certified welder to use the good welder 3. A REAL CWI to check the welds NOT an in-house CWI I don't think they have any which probably led us all here. Mine were cold welded but not anything like that although my cousins had some porosity and i told him to send them back but he didn't
