What's the best sounding exhaust out there for a 6 popper.

My plans are to install a 454 this summer but want to run the 230, 6 cylinder til then. What is about the best sounding exhaust out there without sounding like a farty car? I imagine it's tough to get that v-8 sound from a 6 popper but figured I'd ask.

Nice job. Was thinking about 2 1/4 with duals. But like I said I don't want it to sound like a Subaru with farty exhaust. LOL

On my 65 with a 6 popper, I had a 2 1/4 straight pipe that dumped out the passenger side behind the cab.

I agree with motoimpaired, there is nothing like the sound of an I6 with a split manifold running glasspacks!! On a I6 I would say that 2.25" tubing would be sufficient, with a 12-14" case length on Cherry Bomb glasspacks or even a Smitty's. That will give your truck that classic hot rod sound! Wont sound anything like an import car!!!
