whats the best static drop for 1970 c10
hey guys i just bought a 1970 c10 project and i have been looking around for a nice set of drop springs. i would like to avoid notching the frame. i plan on 2.5 drop spindles and converting to 5 lug all around. looking to run a nice set of 17s or 18s. sorry if there is already a thread on this. post up your thoughts and recommendations!

Early classic enterprises have photos of drop kits so you can see what works for you. Call Stan or Mark great guys with tons of knowledge on our trucks. Cheers, Pat

Re: whats the best static drop for 1970 c10
from the Heart of Arkansas!
From experience....and I used Early Classic Enterprises 2.5/4.0 drop on my '69, it needs to be an inch lower on both ends. ECE recommends that drops of 5 inches or more also get their center crossmember/trailing arm mount that offers less chance for the driveshaft to interfere(?) or something to that effect. I know that in my case, another inch out of the atmosphere wouldn't hurt, except for the bottoming-out at dips and stuff. Front bumper will contact extreme dips in my town, while the 2-inch hitch receiver that was on it, would drag if the incline was too much. That receiver is gone and won't be replaced. But, this picture will show how it looked on the last day that it was still assembled. But, as already suggested, look at their website and you'll see examples of different drops and then read the customer comments about what they have done with their lowered trucks. I know it's more money to do the spindles/spring combo, but you'll be happier with the results and the conversion to disc brakes will be a plus.

5/7 static drop all the way......however you would have to c-notch the rear frame. 5 lug conversation with drop spindles and springs up front is great plus running disc. brakes.
