Has anyone cut frame to move front bumper in tighter to body??

I've seen on 56-ish F$?d pickups where people will cut 2" out of front frame rails to move the bumper in tighter to body. Has anyone seen or done this on a 60-66?? It looks like I could move bumper in 2" and not have clearance issues. I'm thinking this would be a nice look. Also toyed with idea of a front roll pan. Any ideas or pics or comments would be appreciated.

I was thinking about doing that mod, prolly be a while though I like bumpers up front and have seen many front roll pans and don't quite like the look. Just my opinion

Some crazy skills behind the work on this Sub, including the bumper mods you speak of. http://www.pro-touring.com/showthrea...-Roadster-Shop

I just wonder if the guy didn't run out of money or something as this build seems to have stalled

Re: Has anyone cut frame to move front bumper in tighter to body??

There was a satin black magazine project truck a few years back that modified the bumper brackets. They either moved them in, or flipped them over, or both. They had close up photos of the modifications. It was some type of low budget build but I don’t remember the name of the project or which magazine published the segments. The finished truck had white pinstriping and had a chrome GMC grille and bumpers. It was either in Classic Trucks or Custom Classic Trucks.

I just read the thread on this truck, I was so amazed with how good the bumpers looked I didn't even realize the hood and fenders were changed up.

It looks like they might have narrowed the bumpers also. I think Foose does it to every car he works on.

The Extreme Powdercoating truck cut a little off the front to bring it in tight. Looks awesome.

I would like to find write up on this as well. I have heard of the front bumpers being flipped over and tucked but I'm not sure how it is done.
