Question only have one fuel tank in my '86 stepside, want to add another

Alright i don't know if my truck came with a single passenger side gas tank or not, but having just one 16 gallon fuel tank SUCKS! I have to fill up every other day! how hard is it to install another tank on the drivers side and make it work? i have 2 fuel doors so it must've came with 2 originally, but I don't know the truck was restored 10 years ago frame off.

Installing another is not a very big deal, but finding a usable filler hose for your 86 stepsides new gas tank is near IMPOSSIBLE. I am speaking from experience because it took me MONTHS to find a NOS one for my truck.

Sounds like he might be better off just creating one, or getting one off a different vehicle that can be modded to work.

My 87 has dual tanks, and the only problem I have is that they put them on opposite sides of the truck. Both sides have the fuel tank door interrupting the smooth flow of the truck. They should have put them both one side like ford did. You just had 1 slightly bigger fuel tank door and both of the tanks ran to it.
