steering column

my 82 c10 has a tilt wheel but the tilt is broke need to know what year columns can i use is it till 1990 thanks

79-83 should be a direct swap, has double D shaft to connect to intermidiate shaft.

84-87rc/91cc,burb,blazer have wiper switch on blinker stalk, has double D shaft to connect to intermidiate shaft.

73-78 have splined shaft to connect to intermidiate shaft.

so does that mean you cant use a 90's steering column in a 77 truck, bcause everything is connected but im having trouble putting it in gear.

just call a column repair guy to fix yours. itll be easier, cheaper in the long run, and you already have it.

you get a new used cloumn its probably broken or going to break. why chance that?

make sure you can get the lower shaft with a replacement column I had that problem

key one click fwd should release it,the wheel and shifter,
two lights the dash,three starts
straighten out the tilt
try a little left to right when turning the key?
