Re: Engine pulling Question
yes it is very doable but it is helpful if you can get the bottom pulley off the crank[for a little added room] and just don't have too long of a chain on your tilter.

Re: Engine pulling Question
Yes it can be done but do yourself a favor and take an extra few minute to remove the radiator -especially if it's in good shape. All it takes is one slip up and you damage it.
As an example, I once dropped a 1/2 inch wrench while working on the engine. It bounced of the fan, hit the radiator and immediately sprung a leak. I had to remove it and take it in. Lost time was 2 days and about $50 (that was back in the 80's).

Good tips. I'll definitely pull the radiator, just didn't want to remove the core support. |

Re: Engine pulling Question
And don't forget the most important part. Put a yoke in the tranny and tie it in place.
It's amazing how far a couple of quarts of atf will spread! |

Re: Engine pulling Question
I debated that when I changed my 350/350 engine/trans and chose to pull the front clip as an assembly. Made the job sooooo much easier and only added maybe an hour to the job.

Re: Engine pulling Question
I always pull the distributor as well, it gives me more tilt clearance and I don't have to worry about damaging the distributor.
