Sell as is, or primp a bit?

So I have this '86 k-5
It's got a fresh Edelbrock performer 350, & fresh front and rear axels (stock 10-bolts). I put on a new "truck avenger carb".

The guy I bought it from handed me a stack of receipts totaling $6,000 (labor killed him). I don't drive it, and I'd like to fund 2 project cars I'm working on.
The drivetrain is solid, but the body has quite a few miles, and the interior is worn. Got a few problems like a cracked dash bezel, and **** carpet, and no radio, slow power windows.

My question is this. Should I sell it as is, or do a couple appearance things and sell it.

I really hate that "roof rack" luggage rack. I have a solid side glass top that I've considered getting rhino-lined.
I figure it would look good with some 33's, a 2 inch lift, a black top, and black rally wheels. That would total maybe $1,000?

I think as is i'd price it at around $2,250, or maybe $4,000 if I throw some cash at it.

Opinions guys?

I'd put it on Ebay as is. I'd expect it to fetch more like $3k+

wash it, wax it, put it up for sale. don't change the top, it looks good the way it is. i'm not a big fan of the textured tops, mines getting smoothed out when i repaint next spring. any rust issues?

Re: Sell as is, or primp a bit?

Big question is rust. Being from TX, could be a good thing.

I'd keep the top and slider windows as well. I'd just sell it as-is and not modify it. If someone wants to modify it, let them do it on their dime. I think $1000 for the items you mentioned is pretty light......especially if you go new tires, lift, rims, etc.

The roof rack is probably from a suburban....definitely not stock for a blazer because it continues past the fiberglass top onto the top of the cab. I have seen some roof racks that are just on the fiberglass....better looking in my opinion.

The color is sharp as well. Matching top is also nice looking to me. Don't change or paint the top.

Hows the interior (pics?) Cracked dash, slow windows.....par for the course for the age of the truck. Most are like this.
Good luck!

If you want to throw some cash at it, get it professionally detailed and sell it!

I like the color, the goofy "you cant take the top off" luggage rack, painted top, ect...nice looking truck...
