Anyone care to explain these rotors?

Looking at the brake rotors on this TF. Wondering why they are built this way. Cooling?

Question: Know how to sell your truck for $50,000?
Answer: Spend $100,000 building it.

Re: Anyone care to explain these rotors?

The ones behind the Foose pimp my ride wheels? Probably advertised for cooling but they sure don't look to have a lot of contact surface. Truth be known they are more likely done that way for the "hay Bubba look at dees brake rotors" effect.
Looking for "custom brake rotors" on Ebay they resemble what you see for motorcycles from some vendors. They have them with all sorts of cutouts and designs in them.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

After searching through a few pages on Ebay I'd tend to think that whoever originally built the truck had some strong motorcycle connections. With the after market hubs for bolt on rotors and access to a machine shop it wouldn't be that hard to do.
