Flipping shackles on an AD?
I saw were nebdrummer flipped the rear shackle mounts on his 3/4 ton AD. Has anyone tried this on a 1/2 ton?

Re: Flipping shackles on an AD?
It doesn't work on a 3100 because in theory they are already flipped. Actually there is no place for them to go the way they are installed from the factory.

1/2 ton springs are directly below the frame, so the flip will not work. |

^ this. Also, why would you need to? The half tons also have it easy because you can just throw some blocks under the axle and drop the crap out of it.

I was trying to get away from running blocks. With 3" blocks and 15" tires there is a scrub line issue.

Have to looked at lowering leaf springs? A bit more on the expensive side unfortunately. I put 3" blocks under my leafs and as great as it is, it isn't low enough for me. The leafs are something I was considering, but we will see.

Re: Flipping shackles on an AD?
I would hate to buy lowering springs and find there was not a big difference since my springs had sagged to much. I have thinking about getting some spring from a late model truck and making my own mounts.
