Ididit column for 47-54

Ive been looking at picking up an ididit column for my truck. Ididit's application specific column for my truck says its a 1" DD. From everything ive seen it looks most people use 3/4 DD. It will be connecting to the t-bird rack that came in my scotts ifs. As im sure you know itermediate shaft space isnt exactly plentiful on these trucks with a sbc. Anybody know what the deal with the 1" vs 3/4"s is?

Ididit part # 1120651020 is the one im looking at. It is no key and floor shift.
Anything else to consider?

On the ididit column you will need a 30 inch column. For the steering u-joints you will need a total of 3 to work with your rack from us.

1.1 inch d/d x 3/4 d/d u-joint for the column
2.3/4 x 3/4 d/d u-joint for the frame
3.3/4 x 36 x 3/4 d/d u-joint for the power rack
4.3/4 d/d shaft for the steering
5.3/4 bung for the frame to secure the hime
6.3/4 hime
7.Ididit tilt steel column
8.Column drop
9.Floor mount

I can help you out for sure on the above list of parts you will need for your truck. For the 1 inch d/d on the column this is what we have been installing in our shop for over 15 years.

For Ididit this is the only column out there that comes with a lifetime warranty. This is the only column that is made in the USA 100%.This column also has 100% gm internal parts in the column.

Re: Ididit column for 47-54

What is the diameter of the column where the column drop bolts up?

Are the joints you supply borgeson?

Two inches dia

One more thing you can do if you want something to be more in line with what you are building. You can take some 3/4 dia 120 wall tubing and tig weld these to your column and this will act as your drop and then you will need to weld on a mounting plate. You should use 3/16 plate and this will mount to your dash or the mount you will make to secure the column.

Just a idea
