favor request...suburban pics and information please!
hey guys...been looking for a project for a while now and was planning to do an AD pickup...but my wife just recently got pregnant and so i'm thinking of maybe doing something a family could ride in. i've been kind of looking at 47-59 suburbans and there just aren't that many pictures out there. could you guys post some?
i'd also like to know what are popular ideas for suspension and lowering. pretty much educate me on the burbs! i'll hang up and listen to your responses |

Re: favor request...suburban pics and information please!
Thanks NewFisher, all it takes is a owner who is willing to spend the money, have a few years to work on it, and a few friends who can do paint, and interior.

Re: favor request...suburban pics and information please!
Not in stock format, even the frames are the same from each year ( subs have one extra running board stanchion) but most of these have been altered. The one Parkwood and Chizzler built are on bags. Mine has a dropped front axle and blocks in the rear using stock springs.

Re: favor request...suburban pics and information please!
Whammer, What are you trying to do..work us up into a burb frenzy ? Everybody is going to want one. There aren't enough to go around. You are going to drive the prices even higher than the are currently. I have always liked them but they are fairly hard to find. Especially if you want a reasonable price.
Good looking Burbs everybody. I guess I will just go back to drooling..... |

Re: favor request...suburban pics and information please!
The more Burb's I see the more I like them. They really do grow on you, LOL. There's some nice one's pictured in this thread.
On the topic of Suburbans, anyone know what happened to the thread where they were putting a Burb body on a Trailblazer frame? It was a very interesting thread but seems to have dropped off of the forum. |

Re: favor request...suburban pics and information please!
Whammer- You have the right idea. I had a few t-buckets and they were not very roomy. When my daughter came along I bought a 39 Ford Sedan. It was big enough for everybody. She liked to play in the car while I was working on it. She would say "Daddy let's go work on the purple car".
Maybe you can do the AD then later make it an extended cab or 4 door??? That would be fun. |
