Okay here is what i am up against. I put a new engine in and now i am trying to figure out how to put the power steering pump back on. The problem is the old motor had AC and the new one will not. Do I need differant brackets or what pics would be helpful. Thanks in advance

if you do need the truck soon you can put the ac brackets on and hook it up that way until ya can get the brackets without AC id check junkyards for the other parts

I am assuming by your reply that i do need differant brackets and the old ones will not work at all? I am not in any rush this project is no where near completion I just don't want to buy anything else if i don't have to.

why wouldnt the old ones work? On my 77 sbc Im using all the original brackets.. just dont have the AC compressor hooked up at the moment. It all works you just see a little extra bracket sticking up where the ac pump usually is.

Are you running headers. I also removed my AC and had to mod the bracket to work with headers.
Check these pics out. bracket 1 bracket 2 bracket 3 bracket 4 bracket 5 bracket 6 Of course you could do some junkyard hunting and find some brackets from a non AC truck too. You could also so as Mike said and hook it up and just leave the AC off. Part of the bracket could be left off with doing any cutting and grinding like I did. But it does look much better if it's trimmed off and painted.

Oops. Couldn't get the pics to load. Checked and it seems they are doing some maintenence on the server my site is hosted on. Should be back up in a few.
Edit, working again now. Man, I love my web host. They have a forum where you can find out things and not have to call them. The admins even post on it. They posted it would be down for 10 or 15 minutes and it was just about exactly. Last edited by swervin ervin; 06-11-2003 at 10:13 PM. |
