Throttle cable help
I need help on what y'all are doing with throttle cables. I have two swaps that need a cable. Both 85 Chevys. On a burb and one a long bed. A guy at work used a stock camaro cable on his el camino. Just seeing what y'all are using. Thanks.

Re: Throttle cable help
I used a stock 99 silverado cable on my 67.
Bolted a piece of flat steel to the injector rail bolt welded a washer w a slot to the end to hold the outer part of the cable. Then welded a matching washer w a slot for the end of the cable to slide into on the end of the gas pedal linkage. Pretty simple setup that seems to work great. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Throttle cable help
I used a cable for a 2002 Avalanche and mated it up with an Fbody bracket.

Re: Throttle cable help
For my '72 I used the stock '72 cable and the stock 5.3 mount. Easy.

Re: Throttle cable help
3' mountain bike brake cable - cost under $15 from a local bike shop and fit the LS throttle pretty well.

Re: Throttle cable help
One end is swaged on at the throttle body; I used a cable knarp end (with a set screw) at the gas pedal.

Thanks Matt for the tip again on the brake cable, I have less than $15 in it and it works great.

Re: Throttle cable help
make sure to ask for a MTB style brake cable and not a road style.

Re: Throttle cable help
Hawks used the Lockar cable and didn't put the set screw in it are either it came out. I noticed last week it didn't feel the same. Hince I say it came out but who knows.
I went and bought some small cable and crimp connectors and used my crimper to get it tight. Works fine now and has a lot better kick down when you hit the pedal. The 71 pedal is nice and firm now also. Before it was mushy feeling.

Re: Throttle cable help
I used two knarps at the pedal end and used a barrel adj at the throttle cable mount for adjusting the tension
