Re: color of front lens
I believe factory correct is clear lens with amber bulb through '62. '63 on up would have amber lens. If you're not doing a correct restoration, I say go with whichever you like best.

Re: color of front lens
One can legally run the clear lense you just have to put in a yellow bulb to satisfy the letter of the law. I have clear lenses with clear bulbs on my 66 gmc because I like the way it looks. Oh well thank goodness for no state safety inspection. Kieth

Re: color of front lens
My recollection is that up until 1962 everything came with clear lenses and clear bulbs. In 1963 amber front parking lights/turn signals became federally mandated, and it was at the discretion of the manufacturer whether they used a clear lens/amber bulb, or an amber lens.

Re: color of front lens
I do know that at least in '62, the lenses were clear. I'm not sure if they came with clear or amber bulbs, but they have amber bulbs in them now.
I got pulled over when I was a kid once in a mustang, after my friends and I were harassing police that were pulling people over by calling them names as we drove by. They told me the reason they pulled me over is because my turn signals were not yellow enough. I say it was because they hadn't yet met their quota that they aren't supposed to have. |

Re: color of front lens
i like the clear lens with amber bulb look. now if only the company that makes the amber lens/LED set can only make a clear lens/amber LED combo

Re: color of front lens
Clear lenses on mine, but I went with chrome bulbs so they're invisible when not in use (converted to indicators for use over here)

Re: color of front lens
Nothing close up of the truck, but I also used them in the reversing lights of my Mustang and those lenses are very clear

Re: color of front lens
Factory original clear lenses for '62 with clear bulbs. Never any trouble in 15 years. I could be wrong, but I don't think you can be ticketed if that's the way your truck was built. Same as seat belts btw, you are not required to wear them if your vehicle never had them (pre '66). This I know from experience.
