Driveshaft safety loop
Ok so I got the rear down (85 swb c10) and the driveshaft now hits the rear crossmember (the one under the bed, second row of bed bolts) I planned to raise it some then I remembered I had a 1 1/2 tube U-bend laying around and would work perfect as a safety loop. All great till I realized my driveshaft is 7/8" offset to the pass side. (9 inch ford pinion is not centered)
So my question to you guys is, what should I do? Center the loop in the frame? Center the loop on driveshaft? Split the difference? Thanks Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Driveshaft safety loop
I would center it on the driveshaft. Looks good!
edit; Taking another look at it, seems you have enough clearance and I like where you have the ends mocked up. Unless you think it could make contact, that will work fine too.

Re: Driveshaft safety loop
I plan to cut the center out of the crossmember and the "loop" will extend through the crossmember and bridged on top an inch or so above the current Xmember.
Thats the plan. First I must get the motormounts and trans crossmember figured out. Thanks Posted via Mobile Device |
