transfercase switch to driver drop.

I searched and found a lot of talk but no conclusion about this.

Can a driver drop 241 from a 88+ truck replace the passenger drop in my 89 burb? (I also have a complete 4l80 with case.)

I am considering this before spending money on my front axle. If all of this would work, I would hunt for a HP 44/60.

OR, has anyone rotated their carrier up? cut the knuckles and rotate?

If there is already a thread on it, I apologize.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: transfercase switch to driver drop.

The case will fit on the trans, the shift linkage will need to be fab'd up. you can do a 180 rotate on the cross member for drive shaft clearance too. You'll need to do something for your exhaust more than likely too.
