Light swithc wired wrong?
I have a 64 - when I turn my light swith clockwise or counter - it turns my rear lights from daytime to nightime setting - my dome light doesn't do anything - What the heck is going on here?

Re: Light swithc wired wrong?
It would be funny if your dome light comes on when you hit the brakes. But if that happened you would know really quick your problem.

Re: Light switch wired wrong?
When mine was acting a little funky, I carefully took it apart and cleaned it out, made a world of difference. It's a simple design, I just made sure to keep track of all the little parts and how they went back together.

Re: Light swithc wired wrong?
Mine was doing some weird stuff. Ordered a new switch, installed and everything works like it should. Just a thought.

Re: Light swithc wired wrong?
I would have to guess that A) either the switch is going bad or B) someone has jumped the tail light wire over to the panel light circuit. This is possible since the front park lights and the tail lights do not share a circuit in the switch, like later model vehicles.

Re: Light swithc wired wrong?
MY guess would be tincan's option B. Melhilburn, does the wiring to the switch appear to have been messed with?

Re: Light swithc wired wrong?
I'm going to take a good look at it this afternoon - I would think it should be pretty obvious if the PO jumped the tail light wire out to the panel - Will let you know what I find.

Re: Light swithc wired wrong?
It should look like this, the purple wire were move to one spot for the front turn signals to be on with the headlites thou, everyhthing else should be the same.
