I assume you mean "Gravel Deflectors"; GM #325465 Fleetside; GM#325467 Stepside. Long discontinued by GM. If you Google these numbers it looks like some might be available. Good Luck |

Re: Splash shields
I think they are not handed; meaning, they have both sets of holes so that the same stamping can be used on either the RH side or the LH side.
I used a small christmas tree type fastner to plug the hole on mine. I'll verify when I walk out to the parking lot in a few minutes. K

Re: Splash shields
Confirmed - it has four holes in it so that it can be used on either side. You can barely see the plugs in this pic (to the right of the bolt and all the way outboard).

Re: Splash shields
Cool, I appreciate it Keith. Do you have a link or a pic of the fastner that you used?

Re: Splash shields
Here are pics of mine, sorry for the dirt. Factory fasteners are large screw swith a nut and lockwasher on the back of each.
You can see, the way the sheileds are formed, they cannot be universal.

This is the same bolt that is used to hold the nose of the fender to the radiator support, as well as several other locations on the truck. K

Re: Splash shields
No, there is indeed left and right...they are shaped differently...unless aftermarket units are designed differently.

Are your factory or aftermarket?

Re: Splash shields
LH side is factory; RH side is LMC -
Not sure why that LMC part would have 4 holes in it.... K

Re: Splash shields
I have taken apart several OE sport bumpers, NONE of them used a bolt with integrated head, they were all screws with nuts and lock washers....like I have shown on my truck
I am sure they could be swapped, but GM did make L and R shields. I do know on my 73, when I went to put them on, they would only go on one way, and were not interchangable...perhaps 81+ bumpers offer the extra wiggle room to allow this...but not 73-80 bumpers.

77C10 may be better off to follow your example on this issue. However, you can see the bolt in my pic in post #8. I can vouch that that IS the original style bolt that was used on my truck. It would seem I've pretty well confused everyone on this particular issue. I misunderstood this statement and took us into the weeds. I believe my work here is done K

Re: Splash shields
I apologize for misleading you Keith. LMC has the left one but not the right one in stock.

Re: Splash shields
LMC is really hit or miss. Their diagrams are great, but the parts can be a crap shoot. Notice the fasteners are screws, not bolts. Wonder if they tried to make the shields universal by having 4 holes?

Re: Splash shields
Not sure, Jeff. I can say this, they are the only ones I have found so far in the aftermarket that offers these.

Re: Splash shields
and just to add to the confusion
I think the 73 to 80 used a 1/4 nc bolt with a Phillips head to retain the pans 81 up used the hex head similar to the front fenders as mentioned |
