Blazer top

I have asked about 3 or 4 times and can't seem to get an answer on how to remove the handle from a blazer hatch.
I really need some help on this one guys bc I'm about to just cut it off with a grinder and buy a new one. I would rather have the original one and just get the cylinder fixed

Re: Blazer top

Here you go - I used the search feature to get your answer:

Post #5 in this thread explains the process

This post describes the way to remove the lock cylinder from the handle:

Removing Lock Cylinder

This thread breaks it down further with more pix of the internal workings of the hatch:

Handle breakdown

Hope that helps - good luck.

Re: Blazer top

Ok thank you I was able to get it out. So my next question is the key doesn't work I'm not for sure if its the wrong key or if its just froze up. So how do I get the escutcheon off of the handle that way I can get the cylinder out

Re: Blazer top

here is the link to the instructions.. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=503101

I used these instructions for mine and had a locksmith shop re-key it. worked great.

oops, did not notice they reference the same link above.

Re: Blazer top

I dont think it is possible, but you could pm locdoc as he is the sme. If you want to experiment, i have a beat up handle in the same state of disassembly as yours
