What color is my interior?
Can anyone tell me what color my interior is? I've heard people call it "saddle" or "fawn" but I'm not sure. It's a '64 C10 Panel by the way.
The reason I ask is because I'd like to paint my steering column to match the dash color. Notice how its grey while the rest of the interior (and the steering wheel) is that tan factory color. Anyone know where I could buy paint that matches? |

Re: What color is my interior?
64 would have been fawn I believe. However, yours doesn't look quite like fawn to me - it appears to be a custom color, closer top beige, or perhaps dark cream??

Re: What color is my interior?
Thanks jocko. I'm pretty sure my interior still wears the factory paint. No signs of it ever having been repainted or anything. Might just be the light or camera white balance making it look like a different color.

Re: What color is my interior?
Ah, ok - steering wheel definitely looks correct color - does it match the dash, etc? If so, then, yep, probably just the lighting or something like that.
Looks sweet by the way! |

Re: What color is my interior?
Thanks! Yes the steering wheel does match the dash. I think the light is just more directly hitting the wheel than it is the dash in that pic.
Would you know where I could get a pint of that color nowadays? |

Re: What color is my interior?
Recommend post #9 of this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=518504
Also, Krylon Champagne Nouveau (spelling??) is a very close match, might try that on a piece of metal and hold it up to see if it matches closely enough - that's the cheapest route. I used some on my 66 and I really liked it. Anyway, hope this helps. btw, the astronaut recommends 2003 Nissan Sunlit Sand in that same thread, and his interiors are gorgeous... Another good ref is post 13 of this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=482704 Last edited by jocko; 04-22-2013 at 11:11 PM. |

Re: What color is my interior?
Thanks again Jocko! You're a lot of help. I will get a can of the Krylon Champagne Nouveau and test it out. Do you find it to be fairly durable?

Re: What color is my interior?
well, it lasted as long as I had the truck, which wasn't long. But, the column is a fairly "safe" location, so it shouldn't see much wear.
