Poll: Raised white letters or not?
I have not done a poll before so here goes.
The pic below is of my truck as it stands today.. I plan to have the same chrome wheels on the front soon with new tires. The tires will be Cooper Cobra GT's. They have a nice look either way. Which would you choose? White letters out, or black wall out? This is what the tires will look like. I will put these on the rear too in the near future.

Re: Poll: Raised white letters or not?
White letters look right on a restored '68-'81 car. Blackwalls on everything else.

Re: Poll: Raised white letters or not?
I loathe white letters.
When I bought my 66 the first stop I made was the tire store and dropped $100 to get them turned around. |

Re: Poll: Raised white letters or not?
Blonde? Brunette? Redhead? It all depends on what YOU like. I say go with the solid raised white letters and flip around later if they don't appeal to you. I personally think they look great with certain alloy mag wheels and out of place with factory rims. You'll get a lot of different opinions on here, but you really just need to follow your heart.
Here's a sample from a classic car I own. Nobody will ever convince me that I would like them better without the white letters. I followed my own advice!

Re: Poll: Raised white letters or not?
Blackwalls. It makes you focus on the wheels and the truck instead of reading the white letters. Why give free advertising to a tire manufacturer? You bought their tires, isn't that enough? It's like a car dealership putting their sticker on a new vehicle, it looks tacky and it's just cheap advertising for them. Also white letters look funny when they are going around and around going down the road.

Re: Poll: Raised white letters or not?
I'm a black wall guy. I think it makes the truck look cleaner, not to mention I HATE scrubbing white walls and letters. I keep my white letters turned in. Now if I could stop my dog from pi$$ing the tires as soon as I get my truck washed & dried I would be a happy camper

Re: Poll: Raised white letters or not?
I think white letters look great on 60's era muscle cars, but I"m not a fan of the look on our trucks. I tried it once on mine and quickly tired of the appearance.

Re: Poll: Raised white letters or not?
Blackwalls! IMO, white letter tires are kinda like Corvette Rally's... leave them on the Vette's, or in the case of white letters- leave them in the 70's!
