electric fan switch ?

have a 71 swb .with 05 6.0L and im using dual elect. fans
my problem is i dont know where i can mount the switch...can be possible water pump just before the thermostat.?

I did not use a switch, I let the PCM control the fans. Is that a option for you?

how can i do that? do yuo know wich pin and color wire ? the pcm has to be reprogram...thanks ronald

I can look for my wiring stuff, but I think you should be able to find it on the LT1swap site. If your PCM is out of a 05 it should already be programmed I think.

Fan 1 is blue connector pin 42
Fan 2 is green connector pin 33

Ronald,

The PCM takes either of the Fan Control wires to ground to energize the fan speed requested by the logic in the PCM. Below is a drawing of how I wired my fans. When Fan1 control is low (ground) both fans turn at low speed. The three relays create a series circuit for the fans. When Fan2 control is low (ground) both fans turn at high speed. The three relays create a parallel circuit for the fans.

So if I wanted to complicate things (great drawing by the way)How would I wire the trinary switch for the AC in so that when I turn on the AC it would automatically kick everything up to high. Also, I'm a bit confused I thought one fan ran, then the other fan kicked on when the computer said it needed it. Are most factory dual fan setups dual speed also? I'm running 2008 Escalade Electric fans. One last question, where did you put the diodes in your schematic? Or did you just use Relays with the diodes built in, like the factory relays?

The ternary switch that I used works by taking the fan wire on the switch to ground as well, so I simply ran the wire off the switch to connection 86 on the top relay in my drawing. This puts the fans at half speed. I would have to do some thinking on have the ternary switch pull the fans up to full speed. I think you might be able to do it with a additional relay.. I am not much of an AC guy, so I am not sure if it needs to be at high speed. Do you know? If it is necessary I will work on it..
