Re: reproduction 1957 chevy truck fenders good?
I had a buddy who replaced his front fenders with aftermarket fenders and he couldn't get them aligned right. I bought an after market bed front panel for my bed and it doesn't fit exactly right either. IMO, I would use factory fenders and repair them when ever possible instead of aftermarket. This is just my opinion though. It is usually cheaper to fix factory parts money wise, although it takes time to do it.

Re: reproduction 1957 chevy truck fenders good?
Back in the day, brand new parts from the dealer didn't fit all that great either. But then again not everything made back then was on some sort of computerized machine either.
Fit or no fit, its still a blessing to have these repopped parts. Curious how much would a body shop charge to fix the 2 fenders that have rusted out above the head lights and at the rear lower bolt to cab area? I'm thinking lots more than the repop price of the whole front clip. |
