Question 87 chevy silverado, steering column help

I have of questions regarding parts inside the steering column. My ignition cylinder will not go into the "lock" position. I replaced the ignition switch actuator with an ignition switch kit. I will post pics in less than 30 mins.. Just wondering if anyone would know what im talking about.

It's for the key in buzzer(thought it had a plastic bit too)
slides in the hole below the round part, where the cylinder shape is
that lock pin comes out to lock the wheel,it needs the"lock ring"
i know some disable that when switching to manual shifter

also, what is circled in the picture. that is supposed to come a little farther up than it is, to lock the steering wheel. but it is not coming up any further. i am confused on this and need help. and where the marker is on the outside of the housing where you see the "lock marker" is not lineing up correctly with the ignition cylinder.

Re: 87 chevy silverado, steering column help

The better half downloaded this to help me rebuild the column in the truck, Fiero and Chevelle. Probably one of the best ones that I have found.

Page 50 + 51 shows where the little metal clip goes.

I think it can be installed "out"one click
I'd pull it back out turn the inside back (needle nose pliers)and see if it works
confirm it moves the NSS switch "right" on top of the coloum

great info there had not seen that pdf before only seen the one pic
