Whats that noise?

My 79 Burb 350 smoked on startup so I got the seals and went into the thing. Without thinking I stuffed the string into the sparkplug hole, turned it over till it held the valves shut so I could do my thing. Only I neglected to undo the rockers before rotating the motor. Bonehead. I even did it on every hole too.
So the tack tack tack noise seems to only be coming from one place, not 16, so thats comforting. It only does it if the motor is under any load. Not so much while idling. Did I likely collapse a lifter? Bend a pushrod? Opinions are welcome, Pete
