Help needed on 2WD Blazer ride height.
Hi, I'm looking for some pic's and measurement of frame height to help set my project up on my chassis table. I'm looking for pic's of lowered 2WD Blazers and then see if I can get the lowest point of the frame measurement (under the cab). I'm using a C20 Cab and I've shorterned the chassis to Blazer length, I will fit Blazer quarter panels to make a unibody pickup.....
Chassis shorterned and set at 6 inches lowest point of the frame on the table, have a feeling it should be 8 inches....... Drivetrain is ZO6 Corvette.... Cheers Tim |

Re: Help needed on 2WD Blazer ride height.
Tim, I have a factory 2wd Blazer that now has LS power (2004 5.3) - My truck oil pan is probably different than the Vette pan, but the truck pan hangs about 2" lower than the cross menber and determines how low you can ride. Mine has drop spindles on the front and 5" springs on the back. Ill put a tape on it later today and post the numbers. chuck

Re: Help needed on 2WD Blazer ride height.
The biggest downside I can see is that the framerails are about 8 1/2 " wide on the C20, they are closer to 6 1/2 on a c10. If you could find a c10 chassis, you would pick up a lot of ground clearance there.
I just noticed your location- That might be easier said than done. If you are doing all of that, how much harder would it be to fabricate your own rails? |

Re: Help needed on 2WD Blazer ride height.
Cheers guys, the Chassis is fine for this project, for our laws we must use the factory frame, I can do custom but added cost and time makes this the easiest way. I'm replacing all crossmembers so there is no clearance issues with the front crossmember.
Here's the height of the C20 its at 14 inches measured at the frame under the cab. I'm just wondering if someone can give the same measurement on a truck sitting at this height ( Tire height and rim size are factors, im just chasing a ball park figure) I can't fit the Cab yet to check and im still waiting on tires from the USA.... Cheers Tim |
